8' board, first mistake, if you don't like to mud use the longest board possible. Looking good though.

I was going to say, are you always so negative.
But I digress.

The drywall was free so I didn't have to pay for it. So that's what I went with.

I'd reconsider.......

Jesus, every time I post something sarcastic to you now, I'm afraid that you're gonna have a heart attack, or something.

I accomplished everything I wanted to for this weekend.

All mudding and sanding done.
All primeing done.
Full clean up including sweeping and vacuuming done.
12mm Laminate floor is picked up and in the store today.
Ceiling tiles replaced and new ones put in done.

Got some good news today about the laminate floor.
At the building centre my friend manages they had laminate on sale.
Buy 2 boxes get 1 free. So I only had to pay for 40 of the 60 boxes.
Saved over $650 which was a great surprise.

On the other hand I did some accounting and found out all my expenses so far equal $13,624.19
I am roughly 5% over budget.
By the time I am ready for opening I'll put in another $2-2.5k

Next week is finish painting on the walls, build table for showroom, install floor, trim out double doorway and some minor electrical finishing. Also need to cut 8 sheets of 1/4" mdf into 4" x 7' strips(100 pieces or so).
These will need a velcro friendly fabric that I have glued to them so the picture frame corner samples can go on.

Still need to buy a small compressor and staple gun for framing.

funny...but when I build for others, I always meet my budget

but, when I build for myself...it always goes over. the last build was about 100K over. I had waaay too much fun with the beach house on pilings. This next build for myself will be a much different story.

Exactly.
I always add at least 10% to my final projected expenses.
It looks like I may be a little more than that when done.

Laminate floor is done!
Painting is done!
Baseboard is done!
Ceiling trim is done!
Sign is done!
Door trim is done!

All the trim need some touch-up especially the ceiling due to 2 slightly different whites from 2 different cans.

A little bit of dap will also fill in the gaps and finish it off nicely.

I`m feckin`tired. :tired:
My legs still hurt from the floor installation on Saturday.

Time for me to go home and chill a little.
See ya`s in a bit.

Opening is scheduled for Monday.

Wow ! Again.....What a difference.....The place looks great. Now, just fill it up with stuff. ... Dju' forget to mud the corner of the new wall ?... That seems like a lot of square footage for a framing store.....It's huge inside now.

Prolly a stupid question, but, are you expert in antique frames ?

That corner need a little bit of caulking to finish off the joint. I didn't mud the corner with tape because I was scared of it cracking all the time because of the movement of the wall which is metal studs. So a bead of siliconized caulking will fit the part there.

The showroom is 900 sq.ft so it does have some size to it.
No, I'm not an exoert in antique frames.
You find those guys at High end art galleries and museums. Once in a while at a Framing store.
I am a CPFA though. Certified Picture Framer.
