When I was in about the 5th grade, a classmate killed his father. He was seriously abused. Kind of a weird kid (understandable). He was sent to reform school.

It's kind of strange that even though none of us were travelling in bad circles, we know this many people who killed other people. The guy that killed his pregnant girlfriend worked in our tool crib. He loved motorcycles, and we always got along fantastic. Hell, he worked on swing shift like me, and even came to work that day, and we spoke. You would have never thought in a million years that he had committed a murder that day.

Ground.

Guy was drunk and harassing a woman at a bar, and the guy I went to school with told him to knock it off.
They took it outside.

Tried to find what he was charged with and remembered another.
This guy was a true murder.
I went to high school with him, complete townie loser.
He killed his girlfriend, who worked with my mom.

Well in his defense, I doubt he intended to kill the dude. Knock a knot on his head for sure, but kill him, no. Guessing he did a little time for involuntary manslaughter.

That's how I remember it.
I haven't seen him in years, but he was always a quiet, well-tempered guy.
I have no doubt that he never intended it to happen.

I can't even find a single story on the web.
Just a guess, but I would say it was early 2000s.
I remember his name, the bar name, the town has 69 people living there currently...you'd think google would find something.

Wow, you folks run with a bad crowd, apparently.

I don't know anyone who has murdered anyone, but when I was in HS, I had an acquaintance that lived in the neighborhood. The story was, he took a bunch of quaaludes and shot up his house with a gun while his mother was there. He didn't shoot her, just at the house. He was shipped off for treatment somewhere. Don't know what ever happened to him.

As far as I know I have known 3 murderers one was a "patched biker", one was cought for stabbing a person in a street fight, the other for killing his wife and the guy she was banging when he came home unexpectedly!

Well I have known 5 people that were murdered. Two of them were a retired union brother and his wife, they were both mid 80s and were knifed to death in their own house in the middle of the night, by a dindo that was just released without bail from jail by a POS liberal judge.

Used to do volunteer work at a rehab by NYC.

Yeah, I've known a few as well as plenty of suicides.

One guy I spent a lot of time working with wound up on the FBI wanted list.

I was at the Post Office and saw his face on the list.
His girlfriend cheated on him and in a drug fueled rage he broke into their home and shot her and 2 kids, one of which was 18 days old.

That still haunts me as I knew Gerald so well.

Many.
In my former business, I dealt with a lotta street people.

True story: Years ago, I had hired a guy off the street. I knew he was a few clicks outta focus, and had known him for a few years. Gave him a job, told him I'd see him in the morning. Went home that night, turned on the news, and there, was a pic and the story of the murderer who had been living on the street.
Guess who?

He had got pissed off at a buncha other homeless people living in an abandoned house.
He deliberately set the house on fire.
Mofo took out 4 people.
William R. got picked up by the cops soon after he left my shop.

One of many murderers I have known.

Yep.

It was a case of bullying. My friend was the shooter. Nice kid, quiet kid. But he was constantly teased and harassed by a couple of guys. One rode my school bus and lived in my neighborhood - seemed like he was perpetually in the same grade if you know what I mean. The other had a rep as being a first rate ass and a bully.

Well, they had teased him constantly all year. One day, they did it again, and he pulled a revolver out of his gym bag and shot both of them. One guy died. The other (#2) survived. He then pulled the trigger on himself.

After the Parkland shooting, the survivor was interviewed. He was all about gun control. Didn't say shit about how bullying could have played a role in the school shootings. Apparently he didn't learn much from that.

This all happened back in 1983.

I saw the interview on the air when I was visiting family and was absolutely astounded that the whole bullying thing was totally glossed over. Pictures of the 3 (my friend and the two he shot), kinda tell a story in itself...

My friend is on the far left.

IIRC, bullying was at the root of the Columbine shooting, too.

I imagine quite a few were at the root of the shooting, but the media doesn't look at that - they just look at the shooter as the problem.

My friend was a really nice kid. Was a scout, played baseball, and loved doing the same stuff we all did back in the day. Video games, bikes, skateboards, etc. He was quiet, but he wasn't shy. He had a lot of friends. He was normal... but was also a skinny kid. He was apparently bullied and they made jokes about him and/or his brother routinely it would seem.

But NONE of that came out in the news.
No mention of bullying.
Guy just wants more gun control instead of accepting he and his friend instigated it all by their actions.

My friend snapped.

not really a murderer but I knew a group of kids from middle school that were all hanging around a friends house one afternoon. They got ahold of the dads .22 and it went off hitting a kid named Mark C in the head. Totally accidental but the shooters family left town and last I heard lived in Alaska. this was probably '81-82? All the kids that were there, 5 I think, rode my school bus and I had been to the kids house where the shooting took place. That scene from The Sixth Sense always creeps me the fawk out because of that incident.
