SBC 350 oil pressure/flow....
Got 5 quartz in the sump, spinning oil pump with a drill, in place of the dizzy...getting over 25 psi pressure on gauge.....BUT I note there is no oil flow to the rockers, I thought it went up the hollow push rods to get to the rockers and just splashed it way around up top, .....AM I RONG?? or is there some missing part I not installed?? an oil supply pipe fitting??

please tell us you put in new rods. Also, sometimes it takes a lot to spin that pump up and get the oil flowing up top. You're not spinning it as fast as the engine would.

Try a higher powered drill or spin it longer and see if any comes out.
Did you install a new oil pump and check the oil pan clearance? I imagine you can install the dizzy, leave the coil wire unplugged, and spin it over with the starter to see if oil comes out. |
