Default Chevy dealer let me down.

Paid $475 for the alignment and the 2 quarts of DCT fluid, and raced a bunch today. I tipped the tech $100, and it turns out the alignment quality was shit.

Car ran good most of the day, but when I went to go home, the on-center steering wheel indicator was off by nearly 10 degrees, and the right rear wheel is pushed way back in the wheel well. Car is dog-legging. Extremely displeased with the dealer at the moment, and they know it. Ding dong didn't torque everything to spec, and it shifted under load.

Hopefully it won’t ruin that tire.

And I'm only dealing with the salesman at the moment. He was assigned to me by the owner when I placed my order in December '19. I'm very close to the owner, and chat frequently, but I'll save wasting his time until I see how this gets resolved. Needless to say, I won't be racing it tomorrow. I am taking the '09 Z to the track and will take a few laps, albeit, non-competitive. Car is not on competitive tires.

Sounds like the alignment will be comped and perhaps a new tire depending on the wear from the botched torque values.

Since they royally screwed the pooch, the next alignment should be on the house.

Tire wear not an issue just yet, but car nearly un-driveable. Was actually extremely pleased with the tire wear on the R888R's compared to the stock tires and stock alignment.

This is the same dealer that sponsors my race car. It will be taken care of, but WTF? Who the hell are you hiring to do your repairs? I've asked that this tech never touch my car again. Clearly can't focus and do everything to the letter. He was not who I asked for. Guy I asked for was booked, and suggested this alternate tech. Vouched for him....

I have an appointment to get the 1st oil change in my new truck. I will not let them rotate the tires. I don’t trust the dealer service department techs with the wheels or proper lug nut torque.

I’ll go to a local shop where I trust them and can verify (watch) that they are doing it correctly.

And I’ll still check the torque when I get home.

Btw- do y’all rotate straight front to rear (and rear to front) or cross fronts to rear and rears straight to front?

Craig's tires are not "square" meaning the fronts are a different size than the rears so no rotation is available. Tire wear is solely controlled by the alignment. EDIT: Radial tires are not rotated side to side on the car so that's a non starter as well.

Yup. Tires on mine are directional and different sizes on front and rear so no rotating is possible.

It’s very rare. Try building a house. Holy crap people just don’t give a chit. And it’s almost a celebration when someone shows up as scheduled and does something correct. When that should be normal.

He didn't drive the car, and the car got run numerous times at the track. Wasn't like that most of the day, but when I did the test runs for today's course, it clearly let go.
