Indeed it is. The simplest things can bring the greatest pleasures free of any complications. Internal combustion, a hike in the woods, an oyster with freshly grated horseradish, a good tune, a fine spirit, sex (the act itself). You get the idea.

1. Raw.
2. With horseradish.
3. With horseradish and cocktail sauce.
4. With horseradish and cocktail sauce on a saltine cracker.

Not sure what “brand” they are but they are from the Maryland eastern shore, bayside according to the chick who sold them.

I mostly eat them with a spritz of lemon or plain. Don’t want to mask the flavor too much.

About 12 of us at dinner one evening, after a day-long meeting. Sitting at a large, round table, and several dozen oysters were ordered. I took one and placed it on a saucer in front of me. After several drinks were consumed, one of the guys asked if I was going to eat that oyster.
"No, I guess not"
"I'll take it, if you don't mind"
"Well, OK," I said , and I watched him gulp it down. Then I said,
"I don't know how you do that. I tried to swallow that damn thing three times, and I just couldn't ..."
You could see the color drain out of his face.
