My CEO just sent out a email stating the results of a company wide DEI questionnaire were positive. Whatever that means.
Then, he stated he was having a group look into DEI within the Veterans working at our company. I am bit naive, but why is anyone still looking into DEI after the negative press as of late? Is it purely financial, virtue signaling? |

I was kinda shocked. He is a Veteran. Submarine Nuclear Officer. Just a LCDR. so no Command Experience.
But DEI is not going to do any good here.. |

Because they are getting pressure from the gov't. DEI and/or ESG (employee service groups) are big on their agenda to make sure it's an inclusive environment. The ESG can consist of BIPOC- bi-racial/people of color groups, Veterans groups, Gay/Bi/Trans/Queer/Nonbinary groups...all need a platform for employees to feel safe/comfortable. Considering DEI was founded on racist principles, you'll get just that, a diversity hire that will tell you how racist your company is, unconscious bias to your interview teams, employees etc.... bottom line is it's a ****ing shitshow, good luck and hopefully your CEO tries to table it as long as possible.
