The worst thing out of it was that The Beatles never reunited. He was mellowing after his recent, and unexpectedly (Lennon’s words) major hit album. We could sure use some of their soothing magic today.

Following are some trivia about John Lennon:

1. He grew up near Strawberry Field which was a Salvation Army orphanage. He loved to explore its garden.
2. He was a choir boy and a Boy Scout
3. He hated his own voice. He once said to band producer George Martin regarding his voice, "Can't you smother it with tomato ketchup or something?"
4. Songwriting was torture. He said to Rolling Stone magazine once, "I always think there's nothing there, it's shit, it's no good, it's not coming out, this is garbage. . . The only exceptions were the 10 or so songs that God gives you and that come out of nowhere."
5. He loved to play Monopoly. He liked to stand up when he threw the dice and he was crazy about Boardwalk and Park Place. He didn't even care if he lost the game as long as he had those two properties.
6. He made his final concert appearance after losing a bet. After helping Lennon record "Whatever Gets You Thru the Night", Elton John bet John the single would reach #1 in the USA. A doubtful Lennon took the wager, agreeing to perform with John at Madison Square Garden if he lost. Twelve days later, on Thanksgiving night, Lennon joined John for three songs including "Lucy In the Sky with Diamonds" and "I Saw Her Standing There".

Final Lennon trivia, when asked by a friend what was the best lyric he ever wrote he said, "That's easy. -- All You Need is Love".

John Lennon and his Fk'ed up philosophy on life and his Liberal stance sucked. But he was a great writer. That would cover about 85% of all musicians and actors. So quit listening to music and watching movies.
