Not to be rude, but 1. You NEED to see a doctor ASAP as any current through your heart can cause fibrillation. You could feel strange and not even understand why.
2. PLEASE install GFCIs in your house in the bathrooms, outside, and kitchen. Those can save your life.

But refer to #1 and I'm not kidding.
1. Well now I’m worried!
2. Hubby assures me that we have GFCI receptacles in kitchen, bathrooms and outside. A few years ago we had new ones installed by certified electrician.

They should have tripped before any breaker did.

At least a couple of us suspect some as-yet-undiscovered electrical problem is existent in your kitchen. If you don't feel comfortable disclosing more details of what is going on, I think we are all fine with that. We are just encouraging you to look into it further, that is all.

Good luck.
I don’t take it as ripping into and I don’t really have any more details. We are going to investigate further with electrician. I appreciate the input. I just thought it was a freaky coincidence and the crockpot was the common denominator.

I don't think this is correct. All of the outlets in the kitchen within 6 feet of the sink are required to be GFCI, the others are not. I have one next to me right now over the kitchen table that is the other side of the room from the sink, and it is NOT GFCI. I had the kitchen re-done, with all electricals done by a licensed electrician, and fully inspected by the town, just a few years ago. If what you say is the code now, it must be a very recent change.

This is correct if she was using a GFCI outlet.

Do you have an under-sink tankless water heater by chance? Copper pipe? I wonder if the sink is energized.

Pretty much the kind of thing I am thinking. A hot wire is touching something metal that you don't want it to touch. What this leaves is a voltage source that is "looking for ground". Everything works just fine, until something provides that ground. You don't want to be the thing that provides the ground.

You call your Dr and I can guarantee he'll want to run an EKG. Enter exit from hand to hand is the worst path you can get.

If you have a voltmeter, I'd take a reading from one lead on the sink, to a known ground like a receptacle ground. ANY reading there and you better get someone out there pronto.

Just FYI, a GFCI outlet looks like this:

Name:	GFCI.jpg

Size:	803.4 KB

Notice the difference from a standard outlet:

All the ones near sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers, like in your kitchen and bathrooms should be GFCIs. All outdoor outlets should be too in cash rain water gets in them.

Could also be GFCI breakers as opposed to outlets. My house has those.

Yeah, I noticed that when I posted the pictures. The standard one also isn't sitting in the cover correctly. My lack of OCD is definitely showing in those pictures!

I prefer a bulldozer and to start fresh when it's that bad.
