MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. - Michigan police are reporting two people have been shot at Campbell Hall dormitory at Central Michigan University, according to WDIV-TV.

The suspect -- described as wearing mustard yellow jeans and a blue hoodie -- is considered armed and dangerous, and people are advised "to take shelter," law enforcement and school officials said.

Schools in Mount Pleasant, where the university is located, are in "secure mode" -- meaning all interior doors are locked, blinds drawn and no one allowed to enter buildings, according to Jennifer Verleger, Mount Pleasant Public Schools superintendent

Officials at McLaren Central Michigan hospital said it's also on lockdown.

The Mount Pleasant police and Isabella County Sheriff's Department are assisting university police, officials said.

Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are en route to assist in the investigation, according to an ATF tweet.

The university, which has around 20,000 students, is about two hours northwest of Detroit.

I wonder if MI allows CCW on its college campuses, like we do in Texas?

My second year of college....'63-64 at Univ of Faryland, I moved to a 500 man dorm, brand new construction, next to a 500 chick dorm, common dining hall, they actually finished another 500 chick dorm so a 1500 person complex....

AND in our dorm, first year some asshole took to putting cigarettes into match book covers, closed and dumped down the trash chute so down into the trash bin in the basement.......fire alarms all the time in middle of the night.....

at one point in the middle of winter, 500 guys got open entry to our dining hall while the trash room was extinguished......

but so the story goes, his GIRL friend was convinced to set one off in the Chicks' dorm.....so 1000 nearly naked guys and gals into the dining hall.....

but THAT did not happen....the gals got in, and the guys froze their nutz off.....I got so tired of the BS, I just locked my dorm room and turned off all electric devices.....my room mate was from IRAN of all places Fred was his first name.....

So one of the guys spotted the clown, he as allowed to be taken away in chains, and we hung him in the quadrangle the next AM......NOT....

after the 6-8th time, guys would have GLADLY hung the SOB......

When I lived in the dorm, our biggest fear was the guys coming around to collect people for Bible study. IIRC, "Disciples in Growth" AKA DIG, was the name of the group. Sometimes someone would run down the halls yelling, the DIG man is coming, the DiG man is coming!"

We responded by shutting off all the lights and remaining quiet until it was safe to come out. Even my hard core Babtist (with two b's) roomate would hide from them.

Rong. Everytown for gun safety will have that added to its database along with accidental discharges in school parking lots and school windows shattered by strays from drive bys etc. Makes their "statistics" on school shootings look like it is armageddon daily out there.
