Quote:
Draft Grade: A+
Top of the league! Nominate yourself for the Toyota Hall of Fame to prove you’re top of the world.

Corresponding with a solid draft slot (fourth overall), WILL had a stellar showing. With a mark of 13-0-0 (1,719 points), they're projected to finish first in VetteBarn League. With six WRs on the roster, WILL might have more quantity than quality at that spot; their WRs are projected to average 128 points this season, fewer than the league average of 140. They landed the top foursome of RBs in the league, as they picked up Darren Sproles, David Wilson, Alfred Morris, and Marcus Thigpen for their fantasy stable.

The Season Ahead
While Week 8 has the most players on bye for WILL (6), Week 5 is actually projected to have the team's highest amount of idle fantasy points. From a projected points standpoint, they have the easiest schedule in the league. Along with the easiest overall schedule, both the first four games and last four games of the season are about league-average difficulty for WILL. An especially difficult stretch might begin in Week 3, when WILL battles the projected top-tier teams for two straight games.

Draft Notes
Strongest Position: While WILL is projected to have four better-than-average positions, DEF is clearly their best unit (28.8% above the league average).

Hit the Waiver Wire: WILL might need assistance from the waiver wire in Week 8, as their three WRs with the most projected seasonal points (Jacoby Jones, Torrey Smith, and T.Y. Hilton) will all be on bye that week.
Doing It By Committee: Here's hoping that there are enough balls to go around for the Baltimore Ravens, as WILL scooped up a couple of their WRs in the middle of the draft (Torrey Smith and Jacoby Jones).

Cream of the Crop: At five different roster spots, WILL picked up projected top-2 players (including Drew Brees, Darren Sproles, and San Francisco).

Risk Hater: Actuaries love the drafting style of WILL. They minimized risk by selecting eight consistent players among their 18 picks.

Returning to Greatness: If special teams contributions count in VetteBarn League, WILL may have found a gem in Jacoby Jones. Including his 1,347 projected return yards, he ranks third in the league with 2,072 all-purpose yards.

Yo, NEVERL8T.

Since I have the best RB collection and my WR ranks are a little weak, I'm sending you a trade proposal.

My #1 RB and #2 WR for your #1 WR and #3 RB.

WR T.Y. Hilton (178 points with our league's scoring rules last year) and RB David Wilson (276)

for

WR Randall Cobb (286) and RB DeAngelo Williams (155)

454 for 441 points based on last year's performance.

If you're attached to DeAngelo Williams as your #3 or #4 RB I would consider McFadden, but that's a huge drop-off so I'd have to offer Justin Blackmon instead of T.Y. Hilton.

Yeah. I was scoring a metric shit-ton of points every week last year and entered the playoffs as the #1 seed. It looked like the repeat was mine. Then after my bye-week Jeff '79 (lowest seed in the playoffs) curb-stomped me by about 70 points.

Jeff went 4-9 in the regular season and scored the LEAST points in the league. Eventual champion Entropy scored the 2nd least.

Yep....
Last year I was blowing goats, and had the comeback of the century. I ended up in the Super Bowl, and I think Entropy beat me by 3 points.
That's my point though. Even if you're having a shitty season, it's possible to make a comeback close to the end of the season.
Not only that, but if you're stuck in a football town who's team sucks ass, like my Bills, FF keeps you in the "game", and every game is an important one, no matter who is playing.

I REALLY wanted to pick a bunch of 49ers like Kaep, Gore, and Davis.

But when Drew Brees was still available at #4, that plan went out the window.

The 49ers games are the only ones I watch in full on Sunday afternoons. It works out great since they're out west and usually play at 4pm, when only 1-2 other games are going. Most of the games are at 1pm and I watch RedZone Channel until the 49ers game starts.

My parents don't have Sunday ticket, so I'm not taking the kid to see grandma for the next few months unless it's a trip that doesn't go through a Sunday.

NEVERL8T hasn't responded to me, or posted in this thread since it started, nor did he show up to the draft.

BAD NEVERL8T, BAD.

I REALLY want to trade my #1 RB and a WR for a better WR since I'm #1 at RB but weak at WR.

So since NEVERL8T has disappeared, I'm offering the deal to anyone who wants to improve at RB.

David Wilson (276) + T.Y. Hilton (178)
(454 points total last season)

or

David Wilson (276) + Justin Blackmon (145)
(421 points total last season)

for a package with the opposite spread in points, i.e. better WR, worse RB.

Willing to give more total points for less if the deal is close, like within 20 points or so.

Hey NeedSpeed, how about Wilson and Hilton for....

WR Calvin Johnson (270) and RB Steven Jackson (162)
(432 points last season)

???

Hey Frizzle, how about Wilson and Blackmon for....

WR Demaryius Thomas (197) and RB Trent Richardson (203)
(400 points last season)

???

Hey Chris Fowler, you look REALLY SOFT at RB. How about Wilson and Blackmon for....

WR Dez Bryant (239) and RB Reggie Bush (171)
(410 points last season)

???

===============================================

There's got to be a trade out there that can improve BOTH teams.

I've got boat-loads of scoring potential at RB, and I hate watching the Giants. Morris is good enough for me to move to my #1 RB slot if I trade my current #1 RB.

I've got to evaluate what I got a bit. When and how often can we trade?

1) You can trade with anyone that you want at any time.
2) If you want to trade for who's left in the Yahoo pool, you enter your trades once a week. It goes by worst record to best record. For example: If I have the worst record, and we both put in for a player in a particular week, then I would get the player because I have a worse record.
I think Friday is the deadline to have your trades in.

I don't get it, what's so funny?

I'm loaded at RB and thin at WR. Trading away my #1 scoring back for a WR would actually improve my team. My #2 guy isn't far behind, and my #3 back is solid and can easily be my #2 if I don't get a very good RB in return i.e. < 200 points production.

Exactly NONE of those trades you suggest are "to improve both teams". That's what's so funny. Hell, Blackmon isn't even going to play until October. As for Wilson...I'm not sure his value is what you think based on numbers from last year and the change in his role on the Giants for this years.

I didn't even realize that. Guess I'll have to look to move T.Y. Hilton only.

As for Wilson, he's going to get a much heavier load at RB this season and less at returning. I expect his TDs to go WAY up, and his total yardage to remain about the same. He's the most talented RB the Giants have had in a long, long time.

I think he breaks 300 personally. I certainly expect his floor to be last year's numbers.

So, are lineups locked today? Or can we make changes before games?

Only locked for Ravens/Broncos players.

Any of them listed as starters on you team will be locked as such.

Players and slots are available to be changed until a player's game kicks off.

Never forget this. One year I was winning a game by a SINGLE point after Sunday. Drew Brees was in my starting QB slot and the Saints played on MNF. So he and his slot were still unlocked. I could have benched him and played no QB for the week. He scored me -2 points and I lost the game.

The rage was intense.

Damn, that had to hurt.

Thanks for the tip, would have never thought about that. I can definitely see then how strategy can be affected.

Guess I'll be watching for football this year
