The poor draft position for NeedSpeed's Scabs proved too great an obstacle to overcome. After selecting 10th overall, they're projected to finish ninth in VetteBarn League with a record of 1-12-0 (1,452 points). With six RBs on the roster, NeedSpeed's Scabs might have opted for quantity over quality at that spot; their RBs are projected to average 144 points this season, fewer than the league average of 158. They ended up with the lowest-scoring pair of QBs in the league, as they added Cam Newton and Jay Cutler.

The Season Ahead

Week 8 is shaping up to be a tricky one for NeedSpeed's Scabs, as it is the week when the most players (5) and most projected fantasy points are on bye. From the perspective of opponents' projected points, they have one of the most difficult schedules in VetteBarn League. Along with having the second-most grueling overall schedule, NeedSpeed's Scabs has the toughest first four games of the season. A particularly tough stretch might begin in Week 7, when NeedSpeed's Scabs matches up against projected top-tier teams for three consecutive games.

Draft Notes
Strongest Position: With three better-than-average positions on NeedSpeed's Scabs, K (8.6% above the league average) and WR (2.7%) are projected as especially strong units.
Don't Rock the Boat: NeedSpeed's Scabs was focused on a steady squad, grabbing six consistent players out of 18 picks.
Mr. Mendoza: Isaac Redman is owned in fewer than 10% of Yahoo! leagues (2%). Let's hope that a.) NeedSpeed's Scabs has some solid inside information, or b.) he's a close friend of the family.
Super Sleeper: With the hope of a breakout performance, NeedSpeed's Scabs grabbed Zach Sudfeld with pick No. 151.
A Pair of Winners: NeedSpeed's Scabs has a couple of proven fantasy champs in their lineup. Across all Yahoo! leagues last season, two of their players (Calvin Johnson and Stephen Gostkowski) finished among the top 20 in percentage of times on a first-place roster.
All Their Eggs in One Basket: The fantasy hopes of NeedSpeed's Scabs might rest heavily on the fortunes of the New England Patriots, as they have five of them on their roster.

Best team I ever drafted...The School Bus.

It was the mid 90's and I drafted what everyone thought would be the dominate team. They were ready to give me the title that evening. I had Barry Sanders, Steve Young, and several other studs. After the sixth round my buddy comes over and says, "You have got to be rock hard right now!"

Told him I had a school bus in my pants.

Only problem was....back then we were only awarding points for scoring because points had to be compiled manually out of the sports section. Stat services were not yet prevalent, and what was available was slow and unreliable. My team was hit with injuries, a severe lack of end zones, and ran into at least four opponents who had season highs against me. Hell, one week my entire lineup only scored 19 points.

The School Bus went 3-10 and finished buck naked last in my division. I don't put any weight in preseason team rankings. What counts is what you do from here on out.

I got a B and Yahoo picks me to finish 6th. last year they picked me to finish last and I came in 3rd. Would have gone to the title game if it wouldn't have been for a crappy last game.
