Coolest Shack on Summit

Summit Avenue in St. Paul, MN, is known for being the longest avenue of Victorian homes in the country. And the coolest of cool is this Queen Anne built in 1900.

I always loved them. There was one years ago in decent shape for free. Only catch was you had to move it. I had just bought my first piece of land about 30 miles away. My excitement didn’t last long.

I can't even imagine. Taxes are around $24K/Year if Zillow is accurate.

There was a Queen Anne mansion built by a cousin of the Wright Brothers in Carthage, MO in the late 1800s. It was moved to Eureka Springs, AR in the 1980s and underwent an $8 Million restoration.

This is not a hobby for the undercapitalized!

I suspect if you've got the resources to purchase a place like this you've got the resources for upkeep.

There is a street in lower NJ with all Vics, I believe in, or near, Mount Holly.
Most are very nicely redone, but none look as good as the OP'S.
I asked someone in the know about the renovation and maintenance costs, they advised it was wiser to buy a 10,000 sqft mansion on ten acres.

Having the ability to purchase a home does not necessarily mean that you can afford to own the home.

Comes to all that style, seen one/seen them awl.....Y bother??? I can't imagine anyone silly enough to want some high maintenance uncomfortable house like that......I say climbing those stairs and living with all the messed up/complicated to cope with interiors is just a disASSter......

So just WHY in hell wood anyone want that shit?? I could have the $$$$$$ of Trump/hoo-ever......and still not want anything like that, and I further think some joint like Mirror-Logo is just silly, I can see a house on ONE story for up to 10k feet with a 4 car garage, two lifts and a ~25' ceiling with HVAC in the garage, like a buddy has in western Va.......and maybe 3 acres, long as I didn't have to plow snow off it/driveway.......

MY BIL owned a Tudor, the 2nd nicest home in Williamsport PA back in the 1990's, built in the 1910's. He had to have two oil tanks to keep the thing heated.
