Default 3M PPF Observation

I've had the 3M PPF on my Z06 for over 5 years now, 52K on the clock, cross country driving in all weathers, and I must say it is holding up very well.
No peeling, no cracks, and it does hold a shine. Still very pleased with the protection.

Not saying 3M is better than Xpel or any other, I'm sure those hold up just as well.

Just the front bumper section, about $600+.
Plus hood and top of fenders, maybe $1500+.
Overall covering, sky's the limit.
Ensure you find a good installer, that's the key.
Good luck with your project.

I had a new car covered in a few places around 2002. I didn't know it then or over the years that you were to wax over the stuff. It all cracked, turned yellow, and is a bitch to remove now even with a heat gun.

I don't know what they used then. The dealer outsourced it. Hopefully, things have improve over the years, but find out if it needs waxed like paint.

I had 3M on my 09, it was put on when new by the first owner (installation sticker in door jamb), after about 10 years it was yellowing and stained. What a pain to remove, took an entire weekend to get it and all the residual adhesive off

No improvement since then. 3M and another product called Diamond Shield are widely used in the motorhome industry. The stuff does what it is supposed to do, but invariably deteriorates into an eyesore at about the 7 year mark for most people. Supposedly, you can extend that by using 303 protectant, but you can’t prove it by me.

In case anyone is interested, good write-up on Xpel vs. 3M PPF.
