Default Hallett Corvette Day

As I posted in another thread, I went Friday over to Hallett, Oklahoma to join a couple of friends at the local Corvette club's event. Friday was just a test and tune day, so my new friend, Dave, the owner of a modded C3, gave me and another friend rides on the track. When I got there- a little late, around noon because I'd driven four hours in the '46- this is what I saw:
Whether the body mods are to your taste or not, this was a sweet running car. The owner bought this '74 brand new, as an 18 year old high school senior and the day the warranty ran out, he yanked the engine and began modding it. He said it's putting out in the neighborhood of 500 hp, and I saw it pull a C5 Z06 on the straightways, so I'd believe it.
It's got the hood up because it snapped a fan belt. He had it fixed soon, though ,and we went out on the track:

Without a doubt one of my favorite rides there...I didn't speak with the owner/driver, he was too busy burning up the track in it.

And a rare pic of it sitting still:
And it passing my friend:

The C4 community was represented as well:
This early C4 sounded mean and was obviously in its element on the track.
A shot of several coming around the track:

This C4 had a couple of different drivers, one was a lady. We heard the sweet sound of squealing tires while in the pit and looked up to see her spin out. She appeared a bit shaken and headed to the pit, but there didn't seem to be any damage.

A couple of the C5's....no idea whether they had their floormats properly installed or not..

There were some sweet C6's there as well and a couple ZR1s but I'm not finding the pics to them yet. Maybe my friend hasn't sent them to me yet, this is just a few that he'd snapped..

This has 475 HP and will also pull a C5, I know from experience. It has a 383 stroker and it's great against most everything............. until I need to turn or stop

It's gotta be the sidepipes....
If I ever get a C3, sidepipes are a must, burned legs or not.

And Friz and Duke semi speechless? Man, this place has gone to the dogs without me checking in regularly. There is ALWAYS a smart comment to be made..
And yes, I had a ball. Even though I'm pretty sure a bearing went south in the '46's tranny and I will need to replace it. And even though the 6 o'clock I told the wife I would be in by turned into a 9 o'clock...it was worth it.

That could be a problem. John almost fell into depression because his floor mats were upside down, and he could not fix it.

You needed your $200 Corvette shoes from Ecklers. To go along with the polo shirt, hat, jacket and jeans, sunglasses, wallet and watch all with embossed Corvette logo.

I was going to ask if there were any Miatas there....but I figured if there had been, those would have been the first pics you would have posted.
