The 410 is an extremely proficient small game getter. Never needed anything more than #6 shot though, if you hittem you gittem. Haven't tried it on large game, of course it would work with careful shot placement. That being the case I'd opt for a slug as it most closely approximates a rifle and exit wounds make shorter blood trails.
