NOT surprising, most of the big name hotrod shops end up broke.....much enthusiasm for cars, but NO financial sense.....

Look at that famous Corvette crook.....I forget his name...I think he deals in Vipers also.....

but he rips off customer with careless abandon, and is all over the .net for it too....

With Roush Mustangs available from the Ford dealers and getting favorable copy in the magazines, you kinda had to think Saleen was on the back foot...

The new GT350 will be the last nail in the coffin. It is everything that Saleen had to offer, speed and handling, now directly from Ford.

Maybe it is the Rousch competition. And factory supercars in general are getting crazy power. Seems like Saleen has been around forever. I'd hate to see them go away and Im not even a big Mustang guy.

With the popularity and peripheral friendliness of the LS and LT platforms, I would imagine LPE is in the black, too!

All the manufacturers got into the tuner special edition business. SVO,'s and Shelby marketing, SRT mopars, TRD, STi, smog legal factory tunes and accessories. GM seems to be the only maker without a dedicated special branch since the killed off the hi-perf group.

Saleen has always been pretty impressive. They used to have a serious racing program. Like I said, I'd hate to see them go away.

I always felt like of all the tuners, Saleen took the styling a step further, without losing the original personality of the car, their S281 NEw Edge cars, with the full extreme kit..body stuff, brakes, Supercharger, etc...would put down Terminators...and looked far more aggressive doing it.

I'm amazed by any outfits like that that stay in business for a long time.

Only uneducated suckers who don't know how to use the internet give them money.

Paying someone to do the work for you is fine. But with places like Saleen, Lingenfelter, etc. you are literally paying double for them to plaster their name on your car, when you could have had the same quality work done by a shop of equal or greater competence for 1/2 the price.

Another forum, man wants to add FI/DPFI? to his 327 Chebby.....and looking at spending nearly 2 grand to do it,.....I tried to tell him how I did it for super cheap via junkyard/similar/Carlisle parts finds years ago....L98 on my L48 for less than 500 bux....course I had do my own harness, easy do, really....

So he asked me to butt out of his thread, and all I was trying to do is save him money.....oh well, his problem....
