No, as of last year the White Castle is still there, but I prefer my sliders without holes in them and go to the Krystal a little bit (maybe four blocks) down Three Springs - if nothing else the walk works off some of the alcohol.

Krystal is down the road a bit from the Hampton. 2920 Scottsdale Rd. Know the spot well.

No charge for the brewery tour, thanks to Dixie's hookup. There will be lunch for purchase and a shop to pick up some souvenirs, but the tour is free.

I started to register for the Cheese tour...but realized that overlapped the auto-X. Not that I'll have a vette up there, but it'd be fun to watch.

Will the Auto-X be available to rental cars (with extra insurance) this year?

The go-karting...we couldn't make that happen. The track we previously used (Race World) has been closed. There weren't really any close alternatives, unfortunately.

Lone Star Steakhouse has been closed, which is where previous steak-offs were held. We did some research and narrowed down the restaurants that would provide the 50 ounce steaks we need. This year we are holding the steak off Whabah! Steakhouse. They're very excited that we're coming.

About WhaBah!... They're super friendly and are really looking forward to hosting us. They will be special ordering the 50 ounce, sirloin steaks a month before we come out there, as they are aged for 21 days. About a month ahead of time, I'll get a count of how many ofnthe big steaks we need, as well as how each person would like it cooked. (The big steaks need a head start in cooking...as they will take some time over charcoal, which they use.) They've said it's no problem at all. Totally laid back with live entertainment. There are more details are on the registration page.

Did I mention that they're really excited to be hosting? We're hoping this can turn into our restaurant of choice in years to come.

Only if it can be passed around. Make sure you get something rear wheel drive.
