So, last night with fire works was rough

A close friend stayed over knowing I have issues with loud booms and explosions. Apparently I thought I was back in shitholeistan.

She texted my boss lat night about 9pm and said he should call me early. Just got off the phone and he said to go back to sleep and take the day off. He's a veteran, too.

I used to love fireworks and wot not. Ehhh.... not so much now.

There's a time and place for everything. A residential subdivision is not it.

Freaking idiots shooting very large fireworks bombs off in the street.

My dogs were freaked out for hours.

People are rude douchebags. My front lawn was littered with their chit. As is the street.

This was in my apartment complex, rattling windows and setting off car alarms. And some of it was caused by large mortar fireworks from a block or two away.

I wish they'd outlaw the ****ing things. I love watching fireworks, but I don't need them for 2 weeks before and two weeks after the holiday... and until 2:30 am every night. I want to go firebomb these asshole's houses.

Naybor across the street and one house up, let their large dawg out sometime, and so we not seen it this AM for the usual coughy klatch get together.....so about 11 or so, knock on the door, one of the guys from next block over got the dawg to follow him here, and of course the owners are not home....dawg ran off with the noise I suppose, and so he stuck with it all day.....

In my state (peoples republic) fireworks louder than a cap gun and all mortar stuff are outlawed other than by licensed Pros, been that way for many decades! The 4th holiday & before and after sounds more like a military battle most years, our cops do not enforce those laws.

We did have one bad firework incident at the lake that I heard about, a girl did serious damage to a hand. I have no other details about that as it happened many miles from my house in a different town!

My four dogs weren't even fazed. And yes, we walked them while the fireworks were going off.

Glad your rough night is over, I never thought about combat veterans and fireworks, thanks for the education.

My night was also rough, wife out of town, I got both doggies, the new one, Dolly, 4 months, is too young to let anything, or anyone, bother her.

Ringo, my 9-year rescue, 10-lb Yorkie Mutt, loses his shit every 4th.
He did not eat or poop the last 36 hours due to the noise, yes aholes in my hood go from Fri - Mon with their shitshows.
Last night he tore up three cardboard boxes we knew he would need, tore up the backside of leather couch for a few seconds, tore everything out of the pantry in about 5 seconds before deciding he could not stay in there, I built him a cave of blankets of the couch which he ignored, finally, and I hated to do it, I caged him, very big cage, plenty of room, he tried to rip it apart, after about 30 minutes he finally calmed down and took a nap due to exhaustion. Rough damn 5+ hours.
In my hood, and the adjacent subdivisions, they were launching until at least midnight, damn thankful there is only one 4th per year.

They are outlawed here. Everything is banned except the worm things and sparklers, pretty much. Doesn't mean a thing. We had 2 inch mortars exploding all night long. Assholes. People in CA just drive to AZ or NV and load up on the heavy artillery. Mostly couples in their 20's and 30's with small kids. They seem oblivious that their pets are shocked out of their skulls. One of my cats hid under a carpet all night, the other vanished for 20 hours and showed up mid-morning today. **** illegal fireworks and the people who set them off.
