Frame and running gear are the same as my Marauder. It's a solid platform. Could be a great driver depending on the miles.

Mike had a 64 Lincoln Continental hardtop with the drive line stripped out, and I was thinking of doing a body swap. But he has since sold it.

Had many Crown Vics and the Merc. versions in our fleet. Lincoln uses the same running gear. Bulletproof, comfortable, and surprisingly good fuel mileage out on the road. Full frame car, as well. Great platform. The old '60's Continental's were problematic with complex old school electrics and a power steering system from hell (driven off the crank snout). They are also a unibody, so a body swap to a frame car like the later Lincoln would be a challenge and you'd end up with an 8000 pound pig.

Good point, and I would have to do a lot of thinking before taking on that challenge. Keeping the 64 chassis may be the preferred option, especially since I have so much experience with it, being nearly identical, if not exactly, like my TBird.

Next leg down to Virginia, fix the Mustang. Daughter let it sit too long and most likely the fuel turned to varnish. I had a new fuel pump, filter and a set of rebuilt injectors delivered from Rock Auto.

My old boss while I was in high school (he owned the drug store that I worked at) had a 62 Lincoln with suicide doors IIRC, he used to make me take it to the DIY car wash with the metal wand and quarter coin slots weekly

My school buddies driving hot muscle cars would see min in that damned aircraft carrier and I never heard the end of it... It drove like a Macy's Thanksgiving Day float.

The '60-'66 T-birds were built at the Lincoln plant. They were hand-fitted, very high quality cars, as were the Lincolns of this period.

There is a Hot Rod Garage or Road Kill where Lucky and the other younger guy drop a '64-'66 Ford F-100 right onto the frame and running gear of a '90's-'00's Crown Vic cop car. It was pretty much a direct fit. Made one HELL of a driving pickup truck.

Bottom line is, an early 00's Lincoln is pretty much superior than the woke crap that's marketed today.

I guess that's what America is supposed to look like. No BLM painted on the streets, no blue tarps, and from what I see, not a syringe on the ground anywhere.
That's what I'd call 'winning-o'!

The neighbor's yard is just past the garden tractor. No one has any fences in the large back yards that lead down to a wide creek, with clear mountain water. One could easily land a small plane here.

Pulled the fuel injectors in the mustang and found that I needed to replace the adapters. A set is about $8, but not available tomorrow. My mistake for not researching beforehand. Ok though, my son in law can handle it from here. All part of the training.

Not sure what the 'adapters' are....do you mean the 'O' rings?

Make sure the son in law uses WD 40 or a small amount of ATF or MMO on the seals to make the install easier.

Back from Colorado in the Ranger, aka Zippy Truck. 3265 miles in two weeks. Engine hours 52:44. 21.9mpg average fuel economy.

Excellent. I almost shed a tear when I re-read post #34 where Lars praises your kid's property. That's back in the good old days, when Lars was civil with us. And vice-versa.
Sigh....

Seriously, the Ford Ranger has always been a solid product and a great value in a light pickup. Going back to the '80's. And 22 MPG is not bad for the HP and performance.
