Damn. That's a little under a month's worth of diesel for me

Wife once left for two weeks to tend to her mom's medical needs.
Good thing she called me three days later to remind me, and to empty the mailbox, as I did not notice her absence.
I thiink she returned a few days early because she missed me, or the dogs.

I can clean, grocery shop, cook-pan cooking a steak with scallops is easy, order pick-up food, do laundry, handle both doggies, and take the trash to the curb on Tuesdays and Fridays,,, no problems here.

I have to admit, one lesson I learned very young was to be self sufficient and not depend on a man.

There are VERY few things I have found I cannot do on my own, I mow the lawn, can run chain saw, weed eater and trimmers, do most minor repairs around the house (plumbing/electrical/ paint / spackle...blah blah blah.)

I was single for 14 yrs so was glad my dad taught me how to do these things and did not just do them for me and baby me.

As I have gotten older, and my lupus has affected my strength, there are more things that I have trouble with and need the hubs muscle or hand strength.

Point being, I think it is great to not be dependent on spousal unit, also learned with the shop owner dying where my vette was, his wife is clueless about his business and he had made no arrangements in the event of his death.... its a nightmare that I witness all too often at work as well when there are not plans in place or communication about insurance/finances etc.

Sorry, I digress....

I hope you survive till she gets back.
my personal assistant can do all that stuff too, plus all of the organizational stuff I simply dont care to do. She is the best.

Around here, one item dry cleaned is one dollar. Hang it on your front door, they pick it up sometime overnight, then deliver it back two days later cleaned and wrapped in plastic on the hangar.

funny aside, the thing I posted about the coffee pot and clothes actually happened. old time superintendent on a large refinery project. his wife was 30 years younger and went on a girls trip, leaving him by himself. He came in new jeans and shirts every day until she got back. He tried to make his own coffee and overflowed the pot. He stood there throwing napkins at it instead of turning off the power switch.

Though he did ask me if he could mail me his laundry. Something about fold service??!!?? 🤔
Yeah. When will the laundry be done?

My post is tongue in cheek - to a point. The sad fact is my exhaustion challenge. Remember, my wife and I run a company. I’m doing her job plus mine. She helps coordinate doctors (I have seven) and meds.

Its embarrassing to admit but I need help just because making a living takes everything out of me. I’ve gotten physically weaker over COVID but I’m working hard to get stronger.

I know how to do everything. In fact, I’m the better cook by ten miles. But doing her job, plus household, plus medical, plus my job, plus dog - I’m ****ing beat and it’s only day two.

She also handles bill paying and bookkeeping for the company. (I know how to do that too). We are a team and I’m eternally grateful to have her.

I’m pretty sick right now (nothing unusual) but powering through.

Now I need to figure out where dirty dishes go. In the trash right?

Paper plates, cups, silverware and buy a lot of boxers and shirts that way you don't have to do laundry but once a month. And buy a rumba then you won't have to vacuum.
Or live off the land like i do.

Snik needs to teach the dog how to vacuum. It's the dog's fur that makes all the mess...

I have no problem cleaning the house. Baby Doll, on the other hand, would have a problem maintaining the boiler, pressure washing the deck, and clearing the driveway of snow. If I croak off, she's off to a retirement community.
