Anyone from the 80's with long hair and woman's makeup and was dependent on mtv to show their shit videos.

Good music is rare, there is Freddie, LedZep, AC/DC and Dolly.

Of course there are then the highest tier which do not need to be mentioned as we all know they are the epitome of what music should be, they are Waylon, Merle, GeorgeJ, Bocephus and Dwight.

I have not heard much music later than the 70's that is worth a pint of piss.

For me, Country Music and Classic 60's and 70's, and some 80's, is a default, as the endless stream of terrible music forces you to pick something else.

I am sure there are exceptions, but to me the 80's scene was a bunch of copycats going after the teen crowds that watched them 24/7 on mtv.
Most were screamers, none were writers or musicians of quality, they just grew their hair and ran with it.

Here’s my issue with Thomas. I’m a YUGE Airplane fan and by default, Grace. He (Thomas) escapes my wrath *only* because Grace was involved in that particular piece of musical dreck.

Yeah, that video not withstanding he was an all-right guy in person. He and his wife bought a house back in 1996 not too far from where I live. They lived there a couple of years. Very few people actually knew who he was (Pikeville, TN, is a very small town) and most never knew them other than "Stuart and his wife".
They came to Chattanooga frequently and my Mom was running the local Media Play store. She didn't know who he was either. Just Stuart. Didn't know until she read an article a couple of years later who he was. She thought he was just another customer.
On a side note, Brian May used to visit her store every couple of months, too. He would occasionally use a recording studio on Lookout Mountain and would come in and shop. She waited on him the first time he came in and after that he always looked for her when he was there. Around the fifth or sixth visit one of the cashiers asked my Mom if she knew him and she said, "Yes. His name is Brian." When the cashier informed her he was the guitarist for Queen she just shrugged her shoulders and said, "Well, he's still a nice young man." She never let on to him she had been told he was a rock star, and he always asked for her every time he visited. Guess he liked being treated normal for a change, too
