Default Bullshit, Balcony, & Beyond: Bed, Bath & Beyond CEO leaps to is death

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...NYC-tower.html

Quote:
Bed Bath & Beyond CFO, 52, is identified as man who jumped to his death from 18th floor of NYC's 'Jenga' tower - two days after firm announced plans to lay off 20% of staff and close 150 stores

Calls regarding the jump at 56 Leonard Street near Church Street came in at around 12:30pm on Friday, according to a spokeswoman for the NYPD
The city's EMS officials responded to the incident and were seen carrying the man's body off in a black body bag at the base of the famous Manhattan tower
The man was pronounced dead before leaving the scene
He was identified as Gustavo Arnal, Chief Financial Officer of Bed Bath & Beyond, early Sunday morning
Bed Bath & Beyond announced just days earlier that it would have to lay off 20% of its staff and close 150 stores nationwide as high inflation and a sagging economy hammer large US companies
Arnal took on the role of CFO in 2020, having previously worked as an executive at several major companies including Avon, Walgreens, and Procter & Gamble
The ironic thing is, a bunch of MyPillows might have saved him.

I wonder what the gain/loss ration is for retaining the woke vs retaining Americans?

I doubt BLM/Antifa/College indoctrinated were contributing to the bottom line as much as Americans would have.

I had a different experience. I went in at about 5 minutes to 8:00pm. That's early to me. As I walk in the door, the girl inside says, "Just so you know, we close in 5 minutes". I walked over to what I was looking for and the guy worker is shadowing. Fk that. I headed for the door. He unlocked it and asked "Did you find what you were looking for?" I said "How could I with only 5 minutes time?"
He said " Well, we have things to do".

I won't ever step foot in that store again. I hope they all close and as much as Amazon is a disease, it's like smoking...people know what it is and do it anyway. I'm guilty.

Noticed that here too.
Went to a local mall at 10:15am to get a watch battery installed, and pick up a calendar.
Mall was open for the walkers, but all the stores were closed until 11:00am open.
Most of them close at 6 or 7pm.
WTF?

Nobody wants to work anymore.

Poor guy must have watched Mad Money w/Cramer. He put one out a few days ago and used BB&B as an example of how stupid investors buy stock from companies that are going under.

Kicks in about the 4 minute mark if you want to skip the juvenile idiocy of that sound board.

I worked in retail and sympathize with the employee(s).
Drug stores and grocery stores and elsewhere and you always get the customer that couldn't figure out they needed something during the 10 hours that you were at work and then want to meander around in an empty store a few minutes before closing with employees that are waiting anxiously to finish the NEXT leg of their workday once the doors are locked.

Stocking shelves running floor scrubbers, cleaning restroom, closing out their registers, unloaiding trucks out back, icing the produce displays, burning trash in the incinerator, etc..

That was back in the 70's - maybe its different now.

I'd let customers in sometimes but with the same warning, "we're closing, do you know exactly what you need?"

That was my thought...who TF goes shopping at night 5 minutes before closing time? Totally nuts. I always shop early, and know exactly what I'm getting. In and out. No milling around like a democrat woman. It's inconsiderate to show up and end of shift and wander around....especially with an entitled attitude.

Indeed.
I believe that they, BB&B quit doing business with Mike Lindell because of his association with Trump.
Meanwhile My Pillow is doing well and Bed Bath is dying on the vine.

Suicide CEO probably a liberal.

I worked in the meat dept. of a grocery store in the early '80s. We had and incinerator for the boxes. I forgot all about it until you mentioned it. I didn't have much interaction with the public. We had to clean the saws, knives, tables, floors, burn boxes, etc...everyday at the end of the shift. Just me and one other lackey. The old workers got to go home without doing any of that stuff. I did get the occasional interruption to shave a ham or some crap when all I wanted to do was get out of there! I had almost forgotten about the incinerator until you mentioned it. It was nice in the winter! Drop that big door and a wave of heat instantly warmed you up.

I have been in Walmart recently and overheard the stock person complaining about having to put out a partial pallet of goods and moving about like snails. They wouldn't have lasted a day in a privately owned store like where I worked.

This fool that jumped. Talk about an EGO! Did he think the world would stop or make some big deal about it? It was a real look at me and pay attention to me act.
