Physical force and.tear gas just so the idiot.could hold a bible up in front of said church. That's something that you agree with?

Well, first of all, that seems to be in question whether or not gas was used to move the rioters. At this point, I don't know one way or the other.

But let's just say Trump did have the rioters gassed to get them away from the church. Yes. **** yes! Are we going to let the rioters have a second bite at the apple? Give them another chance to burn down St. John's Church? Finish the job?

I say no. The rioters were just as entitled as any other citizen to be on that public street, and in that church....right up until they tried to burn it down. At that point, sorry, I think it's reasonable to keep rioters and arsonists away from the church. That's the reason we expel kids from school that have done really horrific shit. They don't get a chance to go back and do more horrific shit.

Here's my take.

The rioters were everywhere, destroying, looting, damaging our nation's treasures. Trump used his big stick to retake the territory. The photo op was Trump demonstrating that pro-America forces control that street, that park, and that church, and rioters aren't going to graffiti, burn, and loot there.

What Trump did was not much different than what we did in Syria, taking territory away from ISIS. One group is foreign terrorists, one group is domestic terrorists.

YMMV

Rioters??? I didn't see a riot. What are you talking about?
I saw US Soldiers clearing a park full of peacefully gathered citizens, expressing their constitutional right of assembly.
Isn't using US soldiers against our citizens against the law?
I'll answer that for you.
Yes, it is against the law.
We're not in Syria. Be real Bill Daniels.
Using troops to protect buildings is one thing, National Guard Troops that is, but regular armed forces is just wrong and against the law.
How do you rationalize all of the lying that Trump does to your face?

I'm putting in my 2 cents here. The PRESIDENT doesn't order the clearing of jack-shit. He says " I want to go to...WalMart, and there are a lot of people tasked with making that happen. If they DIDN'T some fuktard Trump hater would make himself a hero by going Oswald/CIA/Mafia on Trump.

The PEACEFUL protesters you are referring to, are in no danger and their VOICES one block N,S,E,or W are no less heard. The PEACEFUL protesters are also not going to be fired upon. You must have very little faith in our military if you believe that they are unable to identify a threat.

That church has a sign right over the President's shoulder that says "ALL ARE WELCOME". There is no disclaimer that says, "Unless we don't like you, or you don't agree with our perspective.

The First Amendment (and admittedly, I have not read it in a while) does not list ANY exceptions that I can recall and that INCLUDES Mattis, as well as the President. They don't have to like each other and they BOTH have the right to voice their opinion.

I DESPISED Obama from day ONE. I STILL respected the office he represented. That ability is LOST on liberals. Adults that refuse to go to the White House are no better than the 3 year old throwing themselves on the floor in the grocery store and screaming their head off. NO different.

Mattis is a fierce hawk and hawks without prey are never going to be very happy. He's a bitter fossil and I'd bet you a pallet of strapped down cash, there is something he is working toward because most people forgot he even existed until he shot his mouth off.

My bad.

The Posse Comitatus Act is a United States federal law (18 U.S.C. § 1385, original at 20 Stat. 152) signed on June 18, 1878, by President Rutherford B. Hayes. The purpose of the act – in concert with the Insurrection Act of 1807 – is to limit the powers of the federal government in using federal military personnel to enforce domestic policies within the United States. It was passed as an amendment to an army appropriation bill following the end of Reconstruction and was updated in 1956 and 1981.

Posse Comitatus Act

Signed into law by President Rutherford B. Hayes on June 18, 1878
Major amendments
1956, 1981
The act specifically applies only to the United States Army and, as amended in 1956, the United States Air Force. Although the act does not explicitly mention the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps, the Department of the Navy has prescribed regulations that are generally construed to give the act force with respect to those services as well. The act does not prevent the Army National Guard or the Air National Guard under state authority from acting in a law enforcement capacity within its home state or in an adjacent state if invited by that state's governor. The United States Coast Guard (under the Department of Homeland Security) and United States Space Force (under the Department of the Air Force) are not covered by the Posse Comitatus Act either, primarily because although both are armed services, they also have maritime and space law enforcement missions respectively.

Are you saying these folks were just having a weenie roast the night before, and it just got a little out of hand? In case you forgot:

Also, I think it's already been covered, but the troops were being deployed to guard our national monuments and treasures, not to clear the park. Various federal policing agencies were used to clear the park.

This Trumps that literally as well as figuratively...

The Insurrection Act of 1807 is a United States federal law (10 U.S.C. ... §§ 331–335) that empowers the president of the United States to deploy military troops within the United States in particular circumstances, such as to suppress civil disorder, insurrection and rebellion.

That fringe had their own agenda and had nothing to do with the peaceful citizens that were cleared from the park, albeit you want to lump them into the same movement. Keep fanning.
Trump 's lies are just so obvious lately. Do you.agree with his lies?
