A friend of mine got one at an auction that was cosmetically great but a bad engine. He put a 427 in it.

As long as you have the mullet to go along with it, you're good to go.

You wouldn't have to twist my arm very hard to have a 1987 Trans Am GTA.

I also like the old fox body Mustangs of the same era. I've had a few of them in the last 10 years, and I always end up disappointed. The drive trains are wonderful, but the interiors are poor quality plastic, and the build quality is really terrible. So, even if you find a nice one, you're going to spend a bit of time and money keeping it up if you drive it. I found that the '99 and up Mustangs are much much better.

You may remember the one I bought earlier this year. It was an '88, 83k miles, two owner. Had the 5.0 TPI and auto. I paid $4500 for it, had it three weeks and sold it for $6750. I did replace the windshield and got a few little issues sorted out. If it had been silver or white I would have kept it for a while.
Maybe. I have two of the four cars I started the year with, bought and sold ten so far, and have four left. But I am shopping. |

I've also been looking at one to build up as project...
My first car when I graduated college was a 1984 Z28 HO (IROC didn't come out until 1985) with a whopping 190HP... LOL I got rid of the original wheels for a set of Enkei's... and of course louvers.. LOL |
