Not one album from the current generation.

I'm sure that's because everything is basically sold by individual song now, but still funny none-the-less.

The album "Take Five" was the first million selling jazz album, so they at least own that milestone. It put Brubek on the cover of Time magazine and introduced a lot of people to jazz. Seeing him live in '81 gave me an interest in jazz for the first time.

Kinda interesting story about Brubeck: His pre-teen daughter loved "Take Five", and Dave loved playing it with her. Some nights, though, she was busy with home work or whatever, but Dave wouldn't take no for an answer. He started playing the the "Dum-dum-dum" beat and that alone, over and over, until she could no longer resist playing with him. She eventually always joined him.

Hootie? Really? Hootie?

Alrighty then.

I'm surprised the Eagles took the top spot. , Rumours, The Wall, ZOSO, Back in Black, and the White Album are not surprising. I'm surprised Dark Side of the Moon didn't make the list.

Garth? I guess. Shania? I knew she was popular, but damn.

I'm surprised that Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon is not listed.

To be fair, there's some pretty simple math involved in that. Every single 1 of those have had decades of continuous sales.

Eagles Greatest Hits album at #1 came out in 1976 and just now hit that mark. I certainly wouldn't expect something that's been out for 5 years to match it.

Hootie. He's Country these day. A Black Country singer. I guess we need songs about lynching right along side lost dogs and lost women.
