NO SOUND....computer...DELL...
461MNN1 the sound output looks like it comes from the muvva board, and the speaker set is fine....even tried the other set from my wife's computer....
so anyone with any ideas??? it seems to have nothing but the mommy board on the output, but some empty slots on it.....that maybe near enough to put a sound card in?? anyone?? tanks..... |

OH please......done that and tons more.....
jurst recently changed from Firefox to Chrome, which worked fine for a while.... wondering IF there has been a software mess and me turning it off when storms run through........shit is starting to really piss me off, between various storms/lightening/losing modems/TV HDMI inputs, and crap.... SO does anyone know jack over the Dell computers??? |

Yeah don't buy any LOL. They like using proprietary components in their builds. That means you have to deal with Dell directly to get replacement parts like power supplies etc. If you have a free slot on the mobo, you can try to install a card in one of those empty slots and disable the on-board sound.

Thanks guys, I went to Dell on the net and they fixed it.....
freeking MYSTERY as to how in hell whatever happened.....maybe related to to the switch to CHROME??? at any rate, I went to Dell.com and weeded through the site, and they fixed it!!!!!!!! HOW, I dunno, and honestly, don't CARE.... NOW my wife with her DELL laptop is going there for fixing some issues she has....hope they can fix her machine too... |

That's Dell's "Service Tag".
Go to Dell's support site with that, and it tells you everything about that PC... (which is something I do frequently with work PCs.) Says it was a Dell Inspiron 560s from November 2010, with a 1 year warranty. Intel E5700 CPU, 3G RAM, 500G disk, Win-7 HP. ... which is a quite reasonable Home PC from that era. Glad you got it fixed... |
