Jeb Bush is dropping out. He had only 8% of the vote. Hillary and Bernie are
neck-in-neck in Nevada.

Questions: Does this mean that Trump is the presumptive Republican nominee? Will Hillary or Bernie be the Democrat nominee? Who wins and becomes Presdent?

I'd have a lot more respect for Democratic voters if they had rallied around O'Malley, whose positions and actual performance emulated more of a JFK Dem. Not saying he was a JFK, just saying that he had a more traditional Dem platform that folks 50 years ago might have recognized.

So now that we've had a few days to digest the South Carolina Primary, a few random observations.

1. If Cruz can't win there, where can he? From a demographic and ideological standpoint, he should have walked away with it. He not only lost to Trump, but also to Rubio- both of whom are substantially less conservative. If this election isn't about ideology (and I'm convinced it isn't), Cruz is f'ecked.

2. Jeb burned through $125 million- and could have lit a bonfire with the cash for all the good it did him. Voters are tired of the Bush's, and W's presidency is still carrying toxic residue.

3. Trump isn't running against other Republicans- he's waging a hostile takeover of the entire party. And not put to fine a point on it- he's winning.

4. Voter turnout in SC shattered all previous records. 730,000 voters showed up. Meanwhile, in Nevada, voter turnout was 33% lower than 2012. Around 80,000 Democrats showed up. Hmmm.

5. Thus far, Trumps spent $24 million of his own money. His Republican competitors have burned through $224 million... of other people's money. There's a lesson there somewhere.

We may be watching the rise of a demagogue and the destruction of one or more political parties. It's happened before, there are films about it. Hard to understand the dialogue of the candidate, though, because it's all in german.

It could be folks are just tired of the DC good ole boys. Say one thing to get elected and then do the other because that's what DC has become. DC has become the trading of favors due to money, power, and IOUs being the biggest reasons.

I could be wrong about other folks but that's the way I see it.

While I'm not in the rabid "Trump Fan" category, I am firmly in the "Anyone but Billary or Bernie" camp. I also believe both parties sold us (the voters) out a long time ago. Sooo... a lot of Trump's message resonates with me.

Mrs. Bear, on the other hand, would vote for Mickey Mouse first.

Nevada's a done deal- Trump 20+% over #2 (Rubio).

Long lines at polling stations, some stations even ran out of ballots. 58% surveyed said they were "angry" with the government, another 36% said they were disappointed.

Also of note- Trump dominated rural and urban areas, and every age/income/education demographic.

As I mentioned before- the peasants are waving their pitchforks.
