Default Head gaskets?

Hi guys, posted this on the 'other' site, but I guess all the gurus have moved over herre, so I'll give it a shot again!

I'm getting some work done on my heads and reassembling soon and have a couple of questions for the gurus on here!

I have a stock short block (codes: P/n: 397001, appl: CNR) and I plan to put on a pair of 113 L98 alum heads. Just getting a mild port match and polish the chambers, and new hardware installed, adding 1.6" exhaust valves to opened track.

At any rate, my question is, what compression ratio do you expect I might get with stock replacement sized head gasket? And if too high, what thickness should I get to have approx 9.5:1? Don't want to go much higher, but not too low either!

Thanks!
Paul

Not enough info.

Need to know what pistons you have, and what compression ratio they're expected to have with a specific head volume. Or.... what was the compression ratio with those heads and some known piston?

Need to know a starting point in order to work things out.

Regardless, a head gasket change isn't going to change the compression ratio more than about .2-.3. If you're already running premium fuel, go with some thin copper gaskets. They should be fine if the block & heads surfaces are good.
