I still have most of my machinery left. Put up a new Craig's List the other day. Got one hit so far, some guy is coming this afternoon to buy a $50 angle plate.

I still have 4 machine tools left.

I'm a retired toolmaker. It's all about efficiency, not looks, plus my portable island gives me a bit more storage space.

I don't think I have any pix of what it looked like before.

This is a pik of Kingpin's space from several years ago. Don't remember what we were talking about.

I like his housekeeper! That's why his place looks so much better than mine. I'd even take an ugly one, but she couldn't stay overnight.

Well, it's a shame, but the one thing that stands out as a YEUGGE basic error in layout/design is the placing of the cooking/range/wave/oven right next to the fridge/freezer too boot, cook much for any time length, and that will thaw the freezer.......need 2' worth of space at a min......when I redid the mini size kitchen in my house some 22 years ago, I installed a cooking island stove is far away and isolated with base cabs on each side, and tops of course.....and a high enough range hood so wife can see the TV across the room into the Living area.....

but given the shituation you mention, leave it, not that mutch of an issue, untill some CKD/inspector sees it upon selling the unit.....

You must be looking at Kingspin's picture, post #13.

My fridge isn't visible in my pix, and is 4-5' away from the range.

Having said that, KP's kitchen is a zillion times better than mine.

New cabinet, all chipboard except for the finished oak front:

I put Lauan plywood on the three sides. I wanted to use a maple or oak veneer, but I didn't want to drive 18 miles to Lowe's to get it.

And here's the kicker: A lot of people have private islands, but how many people have a portable private island?

I put casters under it so I can move it next to the stove when cooking, or push it away when I want.

That's the nicest cabinet I've ever seen.

So, never.

FWIW: This GE stove is a cheap piece of Mexican shit, sheet metal is very thin among other things. When "the guy" was here hooking up the propane I asked him about it, and he said other brands were no better.

But it's way better than my WWII stove. For a couple of weeks after having the new one I kept reaching for the cigarette lighter to light the burners, then realized I don't need it anymore.

And having an oven light is "movin' on up!"
That's crazy talk!
