Gameroom Barn Bucks: $500
Default 1969 427 engine and heads for sale $5000.

UPDATE:

There is another picture further down in this thread showing the threaded holes on the side of the block near the oil filter location that is ONLY present on 4 bolt main blocks there in case an owner wanted to add an oil cooler. Adding this because it is difficult to see the 4 bolt main in the other picture.

3963512-engine casting number
A 10 9-casting date=Jan. 10th 1969
T026LF stamped characters=Tonowanda Feb. 6th 390 h.p. TH HP police
9J30495J=partial V.I.N
3919840-head casting numbers HI PERFORMANCE
L308-casting date for both heads=Dec. 30th 1968

This engine has about 2000 miles on it since a rebuild.
I put the correct solid lifter cam in it and it went flat in less than 50 miles.
So I removed the engine and I’m now selling it.
Included is the engine block with pop-up pistons, crankshaft, rods, oil pump, oil pan and the HIGH PERFORMANCE rectangular port heads.
I recommend that you disassemble this engine, clean it out replace bearings if necessary and put it back together as it was a good running engine before I put the new cam in that went flat.
Here are pictures of the block, casting number, casting date and stamped number. As indicated above this engine originally came out of a police car which was rated at 390 hp however it is a 4 bolt main block rather than the 2 bolt main block, which would normally be in a 390 hp engine and it has the high-performance rectangular port heads. This must’ve been a police thing but there is no information to be found regarding this.
There are also pictures of the heads with the casting numbers and casting dates.
There is also a picture that is hard to see from the front above the oil pan showing the four bolt mains.
$5000 for the engine and heads. I will not separate the block and heads as they are matched date codes for this engine. This is a great deal for someone that needs a correct casting number dated block and heads for NCRS judging.
I will ship it covered in plastic on a pallet at the buyers expense. Or, you can pick it up in Cottonwood, Arizona.

Yes, you would think so. However, I have it on eBay also listed at $6000.(because of their expensive final fees.) and there have only been eight views and two watchers. I am quite surprised at this. This is the only reason I missed. The Corvette Forum is for the classifieds as I believe that’s where it would have the best shot of selling.
