Default Interior water connection bust ..

We just moved in after a decent remodel. Painters were here today to redo the master suite for the 2 time and after they left I went back to see if the spray had settled and went back to kitchen then went back for something and heard water flowing in the vanity wall and got to the main shutoff and got it shut down . Water only reached about 3’ into the carpet and contractors crew along w carpet cleaner guy were all on it within 15 minutes .. got wall cutout now and found the break and once plumber gets his ass crack here to fix we will have wall repaired and painters won’t even know anything happened.. it’s a really good day.

Absolutely correct. When we leave town from now on that water will be turned off.

What exactly failed in the wall? Copper? Pex?

I had a faucet supply line let go in our downstairs half bath once. It's downright scary how much water spilled in the time it took me to run to the cellar and shut it off. It was a minute or less as luckily I was in the next room when it happened.

I had a pinhole leak in a tested joint after I had tiled in the shower wall.

You lucked out; my garage A/C air handler leaked into the far guest bedroom and it was a big insurance claim with new carpet, sheetrock repairs; etc.. I've put water leak detectors in key places now along with a flow monitor (Flume II) to detect leaks in key spots.

How is Phyn going to detect an A/C condensation leak?
