I've been on The Internet since before it was The Internet (it was CSNET/NSFNET back then) and I was on dial-up BBSes before that. The above standard advice for dealing with trolls has been around at least that long, and in all that time I have never once seen it actually work. You simply cannot get a large group of random people to ignore one particular individual in a disciplined, consistent manner - and even if you could, some n00b would come along and ruin it anyway.

If STS bothers you that much, put him on your Ignore list and move on with your life.
