Default Black hip-hip guy reacts to Skynyrdís Free Bird during his 1st hearing of the song

Pretty cool IMO
This guy does many rock and country recordings.
And interesting his comment on the Country Boy video, he says hip hop could use more of thisÖfaith, family, and country. A positive message.

Here he listens to Hank Jrís ďCountry Boy Can SurviveĒ

And one more, a different hip hop guy does the same gig and gets tearful listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd ďSimple ManĒ

Gives me some hope for our world.

If you like this stuff check out the video reviews of Unchained Melody as sung live in 1965:

Black performers first time hearing of one of the most soulful songs ever sung by the BEST...there are a ton of these reviews:

Great song, great performance, their version is the best.
But this version from Elvis, near his end--he has other videos of song, is touching.
Elvis is overweight, sweating, shaking, etc... but his voice is still one of the very best, and he still had a lot of emotion:

Back on topic, always love Free Bird, my second brother was their greatest fan.
I thank him, as I only listened to C&W, but made an exception for Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I still remember as a kid, watching NWA on TBS, the freebird wrestling trio using the name and song, they did good by it, even though michael hayes was a better loudmouth than wrestler.
Terry Gordy was the man, died at 40, RIP good dood!!

Iím a fan of the music. My first exposure was Sweet Home Alabama, I heard a local band cover it and when I found out who Lynyrd Skynyrd was, I immediately went out and bought the Second Helping record.
Then soon after went back for the Pronounced LP.
Iíve probably listened to Free Bird a thousand times and thereís still emotions. Of course I feel this way about much of the music from that era.

Nearly every Skynyrd song is an absolute masterpiece. And more so because they made it look effortless. The lyrics are genuine and the music is brilliant.

Even at the height of their run they still had that bar band vibe.
