I owe my buddy Mike Boger at Classic Metal in Mocksville, NC, for all the bodywork and paint. When he does 'em he does 'em right. I just did the assembly.

ALLLLLL the old Fords even out here in no-rust CA have some rust creep in the inner sheet metal of the trunk lids, hoods, door skins, etc. Not structural, just some surface, if the car is not restored. If 'restored' this area is either painted over or ignored. That guy went to town on the details, down to the correct finishes on the hinges, latch, fitment of the weatherstripping (always a SOB), and on and on. The 'devil is in the details', and as a car guy, I can appreciate the areas most never see. Very nice work.

Years ago I worked at ASARCO in the precious metal unit. We filled induction furnaces full of silver that people were selling. This was the 80's. Forest Gump was right - stupid is as stupid does. I presented my wife with the silver flatware she wanted, I won't even tell you how much it is worth now. The silver from the early part of the 20th is heavy and worth shit-loads. |
