Default 6 Flavor Pound Cake

6 flavor pound cake:

ingredients -

cake

3 cups sugar
1 cup butter
1/2 cup margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon coconut flavor
1 teaspoon almond flavor
1 teaspoon lemon flavor
1 teaspoon rum flavor
1 teaspoon butter flavor
5 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup evaporated milk
1/2 teaspoon baking powder

glaze

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon coconut flavor
1/2 teaspoon almond flavor
1/2 teaspoon lemon flavor
1/2 teaspoon rum flavor
1/2 teaspoon butter flavor

directions:

cream sugar, butter, margarine. add vanilla, coconut, almond, lemon, rum, and butter flavors; add eggs, beating until smooth. add flour, baking powder, and evaporated milk. blend until well mixed. bake at 300F in floured tube pan 1-1/2 to 2 hours. (note, can also be baked in Bundt pan). pour cooled glaze over hot cake after removing cake from pan. (this lets the hot cake soak up all the glaze)

glaze directions: cook until sugar dissolves; cool, pour over hot cake.

makes one BIG serving, or about 8-12 polite servings.

edited directions for applying glaze. pour glaze over hot cake, after removing from pan, not while still in pan this lets it soak in real nicely.

sorry.

Does this produce a dry or a moist poundcake?

I hate dry pound cakes. Like 'em really wet. Heh.

My mom used to make a pound cake that was absolutely to die for. I have never had one like it. It was always moist and very very heavy. She died without me getting the recipe. I asked my dad for it several years later. He said he couldn't find it and gave me his wife's recipe. Never tried it but will give this one a shot Doug.
