Nightlife has died...
COVID for sure killed something.
It is almost impossible to find a drink at 10pm these days. We go out quite a bit, at least 3-4 times a month to some kind of show, concert, comedian, etc. Last Tuesday we went to go see Ali Wong in Detroit, show is out at around 10pm we want to find a place to have a nightcap everything is closed at 10. Last night went to see Chris Porter, a comedian, show gets out about 11:30...want to go have a nightcap...this is Saturday night and almost everyone closes at midnight. I remember when things opened back up nearly every night, we were looking for someplace to go, even for a late snack, all closed. I cannot image the demand has gone down that much. You can find places in Detroit although that's 40 miles from home and if we're having a drink prefer to be closer. Before everyone was open to 2am. |

I said most places in Detroit are open. We are downtown all the time. There are some great spots but they are overrun by something worse than the thugs....hipsters... |

Not much open past supper in our little town in ID except for a the bar at the bottom of the mountain. The bonus is we can drive the side by side and not see another soul on the two-lane road after sundown.
However, when we're in Bozeman there's live music at a couple different establishments seven nights a week. On weekends there's usually additional venues. outdoor music festivals seem to be growing with a mix of different artists and genres. Country music seems to have really grown among the younger generations as well. Perhaps being a college town and growing numbers of residents provides the additional revenue nededed. |

I have an opposite problem. Plenty open, but friends are all in bed once the sun sets. Kind of like the Barn.

Plenty of options here until 2am. Kitchen usually is last call a bit after midnight.
It does help that it's illegal to loiter anywhere outside, and really cart them off to a place with no hots and a hard bench for the evening. Sheriff will sign any valid CC, and many people are armed. |

My nightclub days are behind me, but I did notice that the several 24 hour businesses around me, including the Walmart, all quit staying open all night.

I'm officially old because being in a bar with a bunch of drunks at midnight sounds awful.

We had this awesome BBQ joint here in my town called Martin's. Brisket was awesome. I dare say the best in Ga, because we aren't exactly known for brisket here. But it was just as good as anything I had out west. Covid killed the place. The huge lie that was covid should have most of our .gov and some others standing tall. It was nothing more than a litmus test to see what they could get by with. And I said that from the beginning. Probably a post on here somewhere of me saying it years ago during prime Rona...
