I hate Louisiana

I swear Oyealiz is the only good thing to have ever come out of that damn State.

So I'm having a great drive out to Dallas when a Louisiana Road Gator decides to take a bite out of my front fender. I should have known it was coming, I-10 was covered with them. I think it may have something to do with the month long 100+ degree temps they've been having. Oh well, that's what insurance is for. The truly aggravating part was every time I stopped after that some jackwagon would inevitably come up and say "Hey Mister, do you know your car has a hole in it?". I got so frustrated that finally I told one "Yeah I know, It's for the supercharger.". He was like all



Now before you start, this pic was taken AFTER the application of copious amounts of Zaino were applied and a thorough buffing. I also considered applying duct tape since both are silver but Iron Chef said the two silvers were too close in color and therefore would clash. Ya'll do know he's now an interior designer right? Yep, he is. I understand shortly he will be changing his screen name to MajorWowFactor and insisting we call him Anadra, but that's a story for a different time.

Now for the rest of the story. Heading home and traveling south on I-49 my radar detector starts blipping. I see there's a hill up ahead and immediately know there has to be a cop on the reverse side. I have always set my cruise control on 10 over the limit on these trips and never had a problem. I've probably blown by 50 to 100 officers operating radar without issue. I have had them flash their lights at me occasionally but always took that as them being fellow Vette owners and threw them a friendly wave and continued on.

Something told me this would not be the case here so I hit the brake and started dropping speed. Sure enough there he was and as soon as he saw me the lights came on. It was my lucky day, the Chief of Police of that bustling metropolis of Washington, Louisiana was personally going to invite me to contribute to the betterment of his fine community by issuing me a congratulatory certificate of accomplishment for exceeding the posted speed limit by 7 MPH. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the ticket, I was speeding and he caught me dead to right. But come on, this is just down right embarrassing. I mean if you're gonna get a speeding ticket, get a frickin speeding ticket; Kyle Bush it, ya know? I can hear myself now sitting around the old folks home telling war stories. "Yeah, I remember the time I got that ticket, now that was some Hell Raisin'." "Oh yeah, how fast were you going?". "I was every damn bit of 7 MPH over! Them were some times!". It's embarrassing.

The whole interaction with the Chief was amusing. When he walked up to the car he says "Good afternoon, I'm Chief Broussard of the Washington Police.". I was tempted to rely, "Good afternoon Chief, I'm Master Chief Cable of the United States Navy." but things of this nature don't usually end well for me so I thought better of it. After giving me the ticket he wrote down a number and handed it to me. He says "Give that number a call and tell "my girl" I said to make sure this doesn't go on your driving record."' I was grateful for that.

On another note, I was speaking to the proprietor of the Oyealiz Hotel and she informed me that she does not advertise the free internet out of a concern that it will tend to attract the riff raff. Thought I'd share that with you but keep it on the down low and whatever you do don't tell her I told you.
