Who knows, if all dealers run history reports on their cars, before putting on sale? Should I request it if I plan a purchase?

It is pretty standard now days for them to run a car fax and a repair history on used cars.
If you buy the same brand as they sell new they can access repair history for that vehicle that was performed by any "same brand" dealership
