Thanks for the pics Brent! I'm only a weekend hack golfer at best but can appreciate the talent it takes to be consistently good.

Looks like a really nice course too.

Before I could get back (less than 8 minutes total) a security guy had woke him up and questioned him. Satisfied that he wasn't hammered, they told him that he a) couldn't sleep at the Masters and b) if they saw him laying down in any way, shape, or form again they would escort him off the premises. They do not mess around. The banana helped, he perked up a bit.
I think that should be happening at more PGA tournaments. These guys who scream "Baba Booey" or "It's in the hole" at the tee box the second the player makes contact are a real bunch of douchebags. That said, Augusta takes it way too far. It's like you can't even scratch your arm without being pounced on by security.

Several years ago, my g/f had was invited to the Masters by a vendor. And I mean, an all-access pass with parties, limo rides...the whole schmear. She turned it down saying she wasn't interested in golf.

You DO realize that you turned down the hardest ticket in sports, right?

More or less correct. I didn't drive around Augusta much, just enough to get off/on the highway, but it's like a gem in the middle of what could be any slightly run-down small town. I did see some nice houses there however.

Oh, if you go to www.masters.com you can watch the play at Amen Corner and holes 15 & 16, and the featured groups (which I think start a bit later than right now.) The pictures from the stands I took were at 15/16.

Well, there is Ft Gordon, home of the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence, multiple Brigade and Battalion units (both Signal and Military Intelligence), and units from the Air Force, Navy and Marines.

I used to take a one-week leave at this time and rent out my house for sufficient money to pay my mortgage for five to six months while stationed there.

Something else strange about this place. Whenever you see any of the patrons (that's what they call the paying customers) sitting in any sort of chair other than the stands, usually a collapsing green chair, they bought that chair at Augusta National either this week or a previous year. You cannot bring any other chair onto the course. It has to be a Masters chair. And you can set that chair wherever you want inside the roped-off seating zones and just leave it (or take it from place to place) and nobody will touch it because there are people watching everything. Your chair is inviolate.

My dad was stationed there in the late 50's/early 60's (Army Signal Corps)

Golf...never understood why you have to be quiet. Try hitting a baseball from 60 feet away coming at you 90+ miles per hour with a stadium full of screaming people.

When you're at the plate, you don't hear sh**.

21-year-old Jordan Spieth putting on a clinic, 8 under after 14. Holy cow!

If it was just a droning noise, you'd be fine. It's the quiet punctuated by a sudden sound that causes you to just slightly flinch, which is all it takes to turn a nice draw into a horrible duck hook.

Just now, Tiger tees off on the par 5 #15, hits his drive right into the trees, and says about as loud as possible "Tiger! You dumbass!"

Everybody kind of looks at their feet.
