If 24mpg vs 14mpg is the difference between a retirement plan and no retirement plan, there is something else very wrong happening.

That's because you're special. Or something. And everyone should think and act like you.

Or not.

You should look up "correlation" and "causation" and not the differences between them.

The people running around in $ 80,000 trucks for the most part, aren't part of that half that has nothing saved, although there will be some. Business owners buy 3/4 ton luxury trucks just for the tax write off. A guy I went to college with showed up at our friend's birthday party years ago with a King Ranch F-250, absolutely loaded out. He's a lawyer who won't be pulling anything or using it for work. Just had a good year, boom. instant write off.

Yeah, my pickup truck is keeping me from retirement.

Thank God for social security or I's be driving a clapped out 1996 Chebbie pos truck instead of a new Ford F250 Platinum.

Speaking of trucks, how's that rebuilt engine working out so far? MOAR power? MPG about the same?

Has Duce posted a picture of his truck or car? He sounds a little jealous.

You obviously don't realize I don't give a shit what you think.

I drive 52 miles a week
I use 2 gallons each way
2 gallons x 10 trips = 20 gallons.
20 gallons = $63.00/wk
$3276.00 a year

If my mileage doubled.
I'd save $1638.00/year

So I should buy some car I hate driving for the sake of $1638.00 a year? No thank you. I'll keep hogging down gas in my truck that I enjoy.

When you start buying me vehicles, you can dictate what makes sense.

If my retirement hinges on $1638.00, I'm fkd. That's UD money.

MPG went from 15-16mpg to 14-15mpg.

Mind you, I drive with my toes sticking out of the grille. I really need an on/off switch in place of a throttle.

No difference in power...yet. I have the tuner, I just don't want to change any parameters until the repair warranty expires.

These heat does not make it happy. I do notice that.

Maybe some people like to work?

Reading is fundamental. Only a poser buys a Platinum package truck if all they haul are grocery bags
Sure. But then people buy Platinum for a lot of other reasons.

Having fallen and not able to get up, I do recall the Fords being close to $ 10K higher for comparable equipment, even back 13 years ago. Chevys were slightly higher, but pretty close.
