What percentage of U S citizens actually want police to be defunded?

The police don't protect you from the criminals. The police protect criminals from you. Because if there's not any police, and it's citizen-served justice, I don't think they have really thought this through very well is what I'm saying.

Police just like anybody else. Will milk OT pay. Take look at your local PD'S OT pay. Could go on and on with Police waste of tax payer $.
Start with 25% cut. Tax payer $ would be put to better use in social programs. such as youth job training.
Crime rate would go down, if youths trained for well paying jobs.

The first thing that happens when you make those kinds of major budget cuts is the types of things that prevent crimes from happening (pro-active community policing, undercover work, etc.) are stopped.

And when that happens, crime explodes... and not linearly, either.

Atlanta PD officers have scaled back their pro-active police work in some cases to about 10% of what they were before the Rayshard Brooks shooting (I think traffic stops was that particular data point).

Here's an article describing how, in a single month, violent crime has been spiking... in Atlanta.

That's a bitch of a job dealing with the dreggs of humanity and taking shit for just breathing.. Just cut em some slack... They busted some here for both double dipping and paid for sitting at home. They were fired or had to repay the money. Gonna have issues in any profession.

Don't expect instant crime reductions. Takes time for social programs to take affect.
Care to comment on abusive OT pay with officers?
Another huge cost to tax payer, pension payments from fake disabilities.
Some Police departments 90% retire early on disability payments.
Most everybody knows officer who retired on disability, then takes another job.
Plenty of tax payer waste in law enforcement.
