I'll type this real slow, so maybe you can understand it. Say we are comparing Fireball, that is 66 proof, to a whiskey that is 86 proof.

Now say I want to get drunk by consuming 100 ounces of something. If I drink Fireball, it is 66 proof, which means it is 33% alcohol, so I will be consuming 33 ounces of alcohol. If I chose the whiskey, it is 86 proof, so 43% alcohol, so I'll consume 43 ounces of alcohol.

You're interjecting things into the equation that weren't in the original statement. It's very simple and you muddy the waters on all your math.

66 proof is 33% alcohol, 86 Proof is 43% alcohol. A 10% difference not 20% as the original statement claimed.

At 66 proof, Fireball has 20 percent less alcohol than a true whiskey, which typically clocks in at somewhere between 86 and 100 proof.

There was no talk of alcohol consumed nor were there any claims made by me concerning alcohol consumed. You're one of those people that over think things and add factors that do not exist.
