I know there are some crazy laws re: alcohol in the US, especially after the repeal of Prohibition, but this one sounds especially retarded. Every single bottle of alcohol you put on an airplane moves after the airline purchases it.

You cannot repurchase or move alcohol from one business to another, it opens up a position you would never want to be in. The penalties are much greater than selling it to an underage purchaser. That may the dumbest argument I have seen this week, the chit moves after purchase of course but not to a different retailer or selling point. Just leave this unemployed fuq to deal with liquor laws and the grocery biz.
