I'd be worried about some yahoo lawyer inferring you were looking to take out somebody

Less of a worry here in PA with our Castle Doctrine laws. You have that in your state?

Delaware follows what is sometimes called the Castle Doctrine, that a man's home is his castle and he (or she) has a right to defend it. People are not required “to retreat in or from” their dwelling or place of work before using deadly force.

I put one of these yard signs up and the only things that show up are roaches, mosquitos, and maggots

I have a No Trespassing sign on the gate of the barn road and a Keep out sign on the barn. I do know that it is 127 yards from my front porch to the barn door and I have a clear LOS.

only sign is the house number on the closed gate. you can barely see the house from the gate. that should be a sufficient sign: please call before coming over. you can't just drive up to the front door and surprise me. the gate is rarely open. it was open today for about 45 min, to let the electric company meter reader read the meter. then it was closed.
