Ablation is used for pain that really doesn't have a legit reason of being there.

this is different; you need to treat the reason for the swelling first.

I've had the ablation procedure done twice on my spine. The first time it didn't really help much. The second time done around my L4&5 worked real well. They "fry" the nerve with electrical current so it can't transmit pain signals. The nerves will regenerate in about 8 months.

Doesn't really hurt anymore than an epidural and I don't get sedated for it.
