well, you have to have a 9mm, and then a 40SW, and of course a 45acp, and a 38 or 44 revolver. perhaps a 22LR pistol too, and likely a second pistol of your preferred caliber (one to carry, one for the range).

and a hunting rifle (.30-06 is still popular, as well as 30-30), and a zombie rifle (.223/5.56mm), and a shotgun or two (one for ducks, one for thugs/deer), and likely a 22LR rifle too.

and that's just a starter set. (that's 11 by my count)

Prior to that, I've relied on martial arts and generally being the biggest mother fucker in the crowd. I'm still kicking.

You don't have to get quite as close with a firearm Plus, he could also be used as a hand held weapon if you run out of ammo

When I worked at the gunshop, I wanted to get a semi auto to carry. I was completely overwhelmed with all the choices.

I was discussing my dilemma with my friend Roger who owned the store. He patted his hip, then grabbed a Springfield Armory 1911-A1 in .45 acp and handed it to me.

This is what you want he said. A proven design and lots of extra parts available. As an added bonus, you can beat somebody with it, put another mag in it when you get time and it'll work just fine.

That's what I decided on.

Obviously you will pick what works and fits best for you
