. . . that hanging around with girls might be fun?

For me, probably around age 13.

But that was 60 years ago so I don't remember for sure.

Yes, being obsessed with boobs and attractive females in general happens at a very young age, before we even understand why we feel that way.

I guess my question was about at what age do we know about sex and we absolutely want to try it out, and the idea that "No girls allowed because they are stupid and they stink" all gets forgotten about.

And to answer the OPs question. For me I was about 10. I was "pullin skirt" as early as 12. Lets just say karate girls can get frisky. LOL!

Me too. My best friend was a girl a year older than I.
Her sister was 5 years older and I remember them go-go dancing in the white go go boots and short skirts to the Tijuana Brass. I always liked girls, just pretended to NOT like them in about 3rd grade. In 6th and 7th grade, everything changed and the friendship thing was no longer the only aspect.
