How much does a set of tires cost for a Cyber"truck"? How long will those tires last towing trailers around 150 miles per day as you claim?

How much does insurance cost on a Cyber"truck" vs a fleet level F150?

Hmmm. How about constantly starting and stopping with a trailer around town? You know, exactly the thing that you are claiming that they will be doing.

Such high standards you have. As long as it keeps going... who cares if shit falls off.

More shit has gone wrong in your 60k miles than the combined 265k on the cars sitting in my driveway. You really think that a fleet of 10 "trucks" is going to last 200-300k miles without a MAJOR component breaking? Even you can't actually believe that.

YOU calling something else propaganda? Holy shit.
You can go with the same type of tires on an EV as on a gas car. I just replaced the tires on my Plaid. I didn't go with the $350/each factory tires. I went with Nexen Roadian tires at $188/each and they have a 70k mile treadlife warranty. Those tires are just as efficient as the factory continentals.
There is no requirement OR NEED to go with the factory tires. You can go with any tire or the correct size and type.

Yes, really, for fleet pickups. The very large Ford dealer we recently bought our new Explorer at had a bunch of F150 XL crew cabs on the lot. They're priced at $40k-$45k. They had one new F150 XL extended cab priced at $38k before any negotiation. They have several new fleet vans priced at $50k before any negotiation. Lawn care companies don't buy loaded luxury trucks, they buy basic fleet vehicles.

Sounds like it's time to pony up for a few cabin air filters.

OK, so go pick a tire. Any tire that fits a cybertruck. Tell us what 4 of them cost.

Now compare that to a fleet level F150.

If you think that a set of tires on a 7,000 pound cyber"truck" will last as long as the same tires on a 4,200 pound F150, you are beyond clueless.

I don't give a shit what tires you put on your minivan. That's not what the discussion is about.

Those aren't too expensive anyways and fairly easy to replace. Our Dodge Grand Caravan had 230k miles or something like that on it and we never changed the cabin air filter and AC worked just fine. So, not something I'm worried about.

$216 each

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Atlas-Par...sRedirect=true

That's like $100 more per tire, $400 per car every like 30k miles.. Not a big deal.

I paid $137k after tax for my Plaid and I have $188 Nexen tires on it. They work just fine. They are not even noisier and have the same efficiency.. All those "EV tires - low rolling resistence" is all just marketing.. I'm averaging the same efficiency with the cheaper tires and they have a longer treadlife. (treadwear 680 instead of 440 on the factory Contis)

Now go look at the load rating of that cheap ass tire and tell me what you think the problem may be with putting it on a 7,000 pound Cyber"truck" that is towing a trailer.

It's a Load E rated tire. That means a maximum of 1,520 lbs/tire. Oops!

Now let's go back to the skidpad discussion and see how well it does with those f-ing bricks on it.

Oops.

Ehhhh... No big deal.

Those things wouldn't last a week on a Cyber"truck"

I don't road race, so it is irrelevant for my driving. I also adjusted camber to be less negative camber that it comes with from the factory as it wears out the inside of the rear tires, so I shimmed the camber arms by 3 mm each side to get a better wear pattern with less negative camber. It also helps at the drag strip as the tire sits more straight, giving me better traction. Adjusting camber gave me .02 better 60 foot time at the drag strip. Went from 1.59 with factory camber to 1.57 with camber shims installed. Never cared much for cornering. Not my thing. I drive corners are normal speeds.

Oddly enough, it's not at all surprising that you would put piece of shit Walmart tires on a $137k car...

This one has a load index of 127 which means 3858 lbs per tire

Why not? The "low rolling resistance" and "quiet" claims are total BS. The Nexens are just as quiet and I get the same efficiency.. Right now, my average efficiency over the last 2 weeks was 101% of EPA, meaning I'm getting 320+ miles range per full charge. According to Tesla critics.. nobody gets EPA range.. Not true. I get close to or even above EPA all the time. Unless I'm racing, I drive like a normal human being.

Speaking of business math, can any of you Haters explain why companies like Amazon and FedEx are switching over to electric devlivery vans? Love him or hate him, you have to acknowledge that Jeff Bezos is no idiot - what does he see in electric delivery vans? Why are they a superior business case compared to the Ford Transit and Freightliner vans he's been using for the last 2 decades?

Delivery vans as compared to lawn service trucks? Is that even a serious question?

A few reasons:

- Constant stop/start driving
- Short trips
- Return to a large terminal at least every night where they can be charged while being loaded
- Jeff Bezos can brag about being "green"

That kind of business model is a perfect fit for EV delivery vans, as opposed to small lawn service companies.

BTW, I'm not a "hater." We seriously considered the electric "Mustang" instead of the Explorer we just bought, but Ford has stopped making them due to lack of demand, which tipped our decision toward the Explorer.
