I am trying to bleed the brakes now. First lesson:
1) 1/4" tubing will NOT fit on the bleeder. Going back for 5/16" tubing. |

Lesson number 2:
It's not 5/16" either. It's 3/8". |

You're learning a valuable lesson! ANY car or home repair job will require at least 4 trips to somewhere for parts, exchanging parts, first aid supplies, liquid nourishment, special tools, a quiet drive to think what went wrong etc....hang in there! |

Well, I did it! My brakes are back to normal. When I did the wheel farthest from the master cylinder, a bunch of bubbles came out. When I did the right rear, more bubbles but not as much as at first. The fronts were clear. The brake fluid looked like apple juice. It wasn't black or as dirty as I thought it would be.

You know your stuff. I had to make two trips to the parts store, two trips to Home Depot, one trip to Sonic and one 40 mile ride to, you know, "check'er out".

Glad to hear you got it fixed! You are now a brake bleeding expert. Want to come do the ones on the 96? That car is super fun to do with the 6 piston calipers.
The trips to the store become more of a problem if you are taking apart the only car you have. I actually had to drive the race car to Autozone a few weeks ago when I was changing the oil on the truck and realized that I somehow had the wrong filter. |

Thanks for posting this up, I was going to do my brakes and couldn't find my bleeder hose so I ran by tractor supply. I'd like to clarify that it is 3/8" outer diameter (OD) and 1/4" Inner diameter (ID). This fits snug over my speed bleeders and didn't leak a drop! Solid brake pedal and fresh pads!
