My friend Pete, who I met 20 years ago at a conference and consulted for him ever since, built his company from about 5 employees back then to over 150, then sold it, finally retired three years ago. He asked me to design a fix for his personal house, and in lieu of an invoice I asked him to take me and our wives out to dinner.

He chose a nice little place up near the BRP, reservations were two months in advance. We haven't been there in about five years, since we took them to a "business" dinner.

Wine, appetizers, medium rare bison steaks, and desserts. Still cheaper than my bill would have been.

Between crying jags last night over the loss of STS, I thought to myself "who can possibly take his place?" Who? With some (but not much) thought, Ill Duce turned out to be the best fit. He has that ability to just cross the line and make real enemies. A true STS trait! Of course, I like the guy, even if he can be a turd.
